SIBU, July 19: The International Puppet Therapy and Pedagogy Conference 2024, to take place on August 10th and 11th, is set to introduce a unique approach in education.
Organised by the Malaysian Puppetery Association, the event will held at Methodist Pilley Institute, in conjunction with the International Conference on Education and Culture 2024.
“Puppets have been used for centuries to address a variety of challenges from childhood anxieties to social skills development.
“Puppetry creates a safe space for self-expression, allowing users to explore difficult emotions and situations indirectly,” read the statement.
The sessions will be led by four experts in the fields, namely Dr Loy from Malaysia, Wanlu Lunaria (the Philippines), Cheung Chun-fai (Hong Kong) and Amit Tanwar from India.
Through the sessions, participants can learn and gain valuable insights and techniques for incorporating puppet therapy into their own practice.
Over 200 delegates will also be joining the conference, including those from Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and abroad. -TVS
