BINTULU, April 17: Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced plans to upgrade and expand the Samalaju Industrial Park within the next five years.
According to him, the move aims to attract more investors to Samalaju as well as the city of Bintulu.
“For this purpose, we will continue to develop Samalaju using more advanced infrastructure and facilities,” he said in his speech at the Aidilfitri Open House organised by the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) here, today.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari also revealed that Bintulu is also undergoing a transformation through the development of modern infrastructure.
“The beautiful and modern Jepak Bridge will soon be completed,” he added.
The Bintulu-Jepak Bridge project has reached 78.04 percent completion as of April 12, 2024.
The Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) said that when completed, the bridge will shorten the journey between Bintulu town and Bintulu Airport by 6.4 kilometers.
On Monday, Sarawak JKR Director Datu Richard Tajan and his entourage visited the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge construction site.-TVS
