MELBOURNE, Aug 26: The Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg arrived here today for an official working visit to Australia.
Accompanied by a Sarawak Government delegation that includes the Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr. Hazland Hipni and the Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki, Abang Johari arrived at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at around 5 pm local time.
Abang Johari and the delegation are scheduled to attend the Showcase for Hawthorne Campus, Swinburne University of Technology on Tuesday.
The showcase will feature the highly advanced Siemens Swinburne Energy Transition Hub, Factory for the Future, and Swinburne’s Space Technology and Industry Institute.
He will then lead the delegation in a meeting with Swinburne Vice-Chancellor Professor Pascale Quester, which will also be joined by the Chairman of Swinburne Sarawak Board of Directors Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
In the afternoon, Abang Johari will meet with Swinburne’s Sarawak students, before departing for Clayton to go on a tour of the Swinburne-CSIRO National Industry 4.0 (Advance Manufacturing) Testlab.
The world-class testing lab provides fully digitally supported engineering and manufacturing solutions for parts, processes and entire systems for automotive, aerospace, production and many more.
On Wednesday, the Sarawak Premier and the delegation will head to Sydney to attend the Australia ASEAN Business Forum which will take place on Thursday.
Abang Johari is invited as the Keynote Speaker, where he will give a keynote speech titled “Sarawak: The Powerhouse of Green Economy in ASEAN”.
Following his speech, he will join a panel discussion on Green Economy and Energy Transition with industry players and leaders from Australia and Thailand. – TVS
