KUCHING, July 18: The much-anticipated Kuching Jazz 2024 is set to return after two years, with this year’s edition to be held on Oct 4th and 5th at Grand Margherita Kuching’s waterfront.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd Mark Ferguson revealed, the international event sets to position Sarawak as a premier event destination.
“Our mission is clear, to establish Kuching as a global event hotspot.
“As such, Kuching Jazz is aimed to bridge the vibrant music scene of Southeast Asia, placing Kuching as a destination for events besides showcasing diverse musical talents of Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand,” he said this in his speech during the launch ceremony of Kuching Jazz 2024 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel in Kuching, last night.
The ceremony was also officiated by Chairman of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz.
The festival will feature renowned artists such as Swaiz, Improvisor, Sang Timur, Suhu, Zee Avi and Aruel Ariel & The Fasola as well as other international artists.
This year, the musical event will also feature a lineup of activities aimed at making the event special and engaging for the community.
“We will feature a series of activities, such as the “Love in a Box” campaign, the Charity Jazz Gala Dinner, a Blood Donation Drive as well as a Jazzing Competition to showcase emerging jazz talents,” added Ferguson.
Kuching Jazz 2024 is organised by Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of SEDC.
