KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 15: EDOTCO Malaysia has announced the appointment of Tengku Arif Bendahara of Pahang, Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah as the chairman of its subsidiary, Shahzan Alam Muda Sdn. Bhd.
Under the leadership of Tengku Muhammad Iskandar, Shahzan Alam Muda is gearing up to modernise its operations and become the benchmark for O.S.A. models nationwide, driven by data and digital innovation.
Commenting on the appointment, its Chief Executive Officer, Adlan Tajudin expressed confidences his leadership, trusting him to lead the company well.
“We are truly honoured by the appointment of Y.A.M Tengku Muhammad Iskandar as chairman of Shahzan Alam Muda and hold firm confidence in the company’s ability to significantly enhance the state’s digital infrastructure landscape.
“Presently, Pahang lags at 65% 5G coverage in populated areas, compared to the national average of 80.2%. Greater collaboration among stakeholders is urgently needed to bridge this digital divide,” he added.
Meanwhile Shahzan Alam Muda is committed to improving telecommunications infrastructure in Pahang, ensuring everyone has access to reliable digital connections while also being mindful of sustainability.
Shahzan Alam Muda is the only One Stop Agency (O.S.A) responsible for all telecommunications infrastructure development in the state of Pahang Darul Makmur.
The company will support the state’s sustainability goals by introducing digital demand planning to identify network coverage gaps using advanced analytics, thereby facilitating infrastructure-sharing opportunities, eliminating overlapped telecommunications towers and enhancing the state’s landscape aesthetics.
Following EDOTCO Malaysia’s acquisition of Touch Mindscape Sdn. Bhd. from Touch Group Holdings in December 2021, EDOTCO now holds an 80% ownership stake in Shahzan Alam Muda.
With the recent increase in minimum download standards by the government to 7.7mbps from 2.5mbps, there is even more urgency to improve connectivity in Pahang.-TVS
