KUCHING, August 7: Offering free access to a diverse range of high-quality reading materials and seek to introduce innovative learning and teaching methods, particularly emphasizing interactive learning experiences for children.
Sarawakâs State Library and Sedidik Sdn. Bhd. formalised their partnership with a new memorandum of agreement (MoA) signed on Monday.
This collaboration aims to bolster digital access for lifelong learning with efforts well-aligned with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal, which prioritises the provision of quality education.

underscored the pressing concern of illiteracy among children, citing a staggering statistic of 13 per cent of the 174,304 children completing primary school lacking basic literacy skills, as reported by the Statistics Department.
“Highlighting the broader societal implications, noted, besides children, 5.03 per cent of Malaysiaâs population lacks literacy in reading,â said Japri, adding that this disconcerting data served as a driving force behind the collaboration.
Meanwhile, General Manager of Sedidik Sdn. Bhd, Ayub Dahari hopes that everyone has the same access for information to make sure no one is left behind in receiving education.
“Athough living in different houses or areas, the standard of education given should be equal, without taking their identity into consideration,” he added.
The MoA aims not only to raise literacy levels but also to lead educational development initiatives, ultimately contributing to Sarawak’s vision of becoming a developed state by 2030. – TVS
